A combination of words dating back to 12th century Germanic; with “affe” meaning ape and ”Stripez” being the symbol of a warrior. Affe Stripez and it’s role in medieval folk lore is also one of the main inspirations for King Kong and Planet of the Apes

"Affection texting" - texting your friend about hugging, cuddling, or showing platonic affection in any other way.

Kind of like sexting, but instead of sexual activities, it's just platonic love.

I have no friends IRL and I'm affection-starved, so I enjoy affexting my online friends a lot.
