Get the duckingmug. A term used in combat sports, particularly MMA, to describe a fighter avoiding a high-profile or challenging matchup. Inspired by UFC heavyweight champion Jon Jones allegedly avoiding a fight with interim champion Tom Aspinall, this phrase is used to call out fighters who sidestep tough opponents.
"Jone Jones is Ducking Tom Aspinall because he’s scared to lose his belt to a younger, hungrier fighter."
