Carling Weekend

AKA the Reading and Leeds Festivals in the UK. Considered the best festival in the world, even better than Glastonbury, Woodstock, Lollapalooza and Ozzfest. Reading originally started as a Jazz and Blues festival in 1961, whilst Leeds started in 1999 so Northerners can get a taste of the Reading experience too. Rather notorious for it's annual campsite riots and it's bottling of unwanted acts.

Great bands such as Foo Fighters, New Order, Nirvana, Kings Of Leon, Smashing Pumpkins, Queens Of The Stone Age, The Pixies, Primus, Stone Temple Pilots, Green Day, The Strokes, The Darkness, Metallica, Super Furry Animals and Soundgarden have graced the stages of Reading and Leeds.

Kid: Mum, I wanna go to Glastonbury!
Mum: No, the Carling Weekend is a lot better. Go to Leeds or you're grounded!

baby dyke weekend

baby dyke weekend is the name given by the locals of Provincetown to Memorial day weekend. This is due to the large number of younger lesbians who seemingly invade Provincetown. It is one of the only times when the number of lesbians is higher than the number of gay men. The lesbians present on this weekend tend to range in age from college up to mid thirties, and the spring break feeling of the weekend is undeniable.

Kate and Mary bought thirty racks on their way to Provincetown for baby dyke weekend.

lads weekend

The holy grail of a shared house when all the girls are away leaving the lads. Generally involves lots of beer consumption, football watching and rowdyness. Typical songs listened to during lads weekend include "three lions on the shirt" and "vindaloo".

tuck tail weekend

Running away from your problems generally associated with way too much drinking and spending too much money at the bars by traveling to a family member's house the following weekend. To avoid harassment from close friends due to embarrassing performances at the bar.

"Is he around this weekend?" Nah, it's a tuck tail weekend. He was a mess at the bar on Friday and Saturday and spent like $600 at the bar.
