Gerard was in the band My Chemical Romance but after they broke up in 2013 he then released a solo album called Hesitant Alien. After his solo album he focused on his comic book writer/artist career. He has worked on comics such as The Umbrella Academy, On Raven's Wings, The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys and All Ages. He has also been married to Lindsey Way (Lyn-z) from the band Mindless Self Indulgence since 2007. In 2009 Lyn-z gave birth to there daughter Bandit Lee Way.
