Tag-rider

Tag-riding or tag-rider is when a twitter user uses tending tags for the sole purpose of putting themselves out for fame and attention without using the proper tags for advertising, be it themselves or their art. Believing themselves to be more important than the topic at hand. They would even go as far as to tell people to "look at their art" or "follow them instead", among other ways of aggressively advertising themselves.

This in short is another form of clout chasing, a way more obnoxious form at that. A recent case of tag-riding is the currently trending #dreamwastaken tag, where twitter users used this tag to advertise their art avoiding the tag's main topic.

Twitter user: "#insert-name-here check out my art and follow me instead !"

Person 1: "How about no, tag-rider."
