yard fighter

A yard fighter is a low-class, violent person whose chief form of expression is yelling at and fighting with members of his/her family in public. Such dramatic displays often take place in the front yards of mobile homes or in Wal-Mart. Yard fighters are responsible for the majority of police domestic dispute calls. Typical dialogue (shrieked as loudly as possible for maximum effect): "Before my mama went to prison, she told me you was no good - no damn good!"

My brother's first wife was a yard fighter. Thank God he finally divorced her.

A term to describe a person or place that doesn't have their sh*t together, overall drama and too much to deal with. Or someone that has second hand ideas thinking they are original.

Admiration of and/or respect given to a prisoner from fellow inmates for a criminal act, whether or not it is correctly attributed - such attribution will often result in that prisoner being left alone by potential enemies and being welcomed by potential friends, pivotal for survival in many correctional institutions and jails. Named after the recreational area where inmates congregate.
