A sweetheart sadist is someone who gains sexual pleasure from seeing their partner vulnerable or weak but does not wish to genuinely pain them or make them uncomfortable. In a sense, a sadist who is also caring and values consent and comfort; only wanting to preform sadistic acts if their partner has consented and is comfortable as well. This is similar to aspects of and/or correlates with BDSM.

Milo is a sweetheart sadist because he enjoys making his girlfriend weak and vulnerable, but he is also sweet and does not wish to genuinely hurt her.
