A fart that gets trapped in either bedding or clothing and much later when the farter moves, the rancid ghost of last night’s dinner is unleashed having “lingered”, thusly olafactory senses are offended by the cranberry fart.

Sister: OMG! Did you just fart?
Brother: I sure did but that was 5 minutes ago.
Sister: (heaves) oh gross! You cranberry farted! Did you have to let it linger?

Where bothering and anger combine when you someone's political opinions come from a place of thinking they know everything and preface their opinion with "I see what you're saying but..." in a condescending tone, or use the word "nuance" at all at any time, but are disingenuous in hearing what you have to say.

And often come across as incorrect.
