Large-scale practice of committee mentality within a corporate entity, (see corporate personhood).

To my phone company: You reassigned this phone number to me 6 months after you took it away from the deadbeat who didn't pay his phone bill. Why can't you understand that it's no longer his phone number? Just because you can't find him, is no cause to harass me!

Another person to his phone company: Of course I received your message that the replacement for my broken phone is ready to pick up - just as soon as I got the replacement phone and checked for messages.

Me to the Yellow Pages publisher: Of course I wanted to be listed in the yellow pages under my business name. You offered me a listing in the Yellow Pages because I'm listed as a business in the white pages didn't you? Do you see anyone else listed in the Yellow Pages by their personal name?

Objective Morality Syndrome

A serious mental illness characterized by someone thinking that their opinions are solid fact and are intrinsically true. People with OMS tend to be very closed minded, who can't think for themselves, and often resort to the easiest line of thinking possible so that their tiny little brains can comprehend it.

Unfortunately, OMS is almost untreatable. The syndrome starts developing in childhood from sources such as but not limited to: family, culture, religion, and politics. If the idea of morality being subjective isn't instilled in childhood, then OMS is likely to develop in adolescence and solidify in adulthood. By adulthood, the damage has already been done, and the person can no longer comprehend a world where they aren't right.

You can help stop the spread of OMS by understanding that morality is subjective, and not one culture, political belief, philosophical implication, or idea of the world, is intrinsically correct. A wall being the color red is objectively true, but red being the best color for that wall is subjective. You may also learn how to stop the spread of misinformation, which often caters to people with OMS.

Examples of people likely to be suffering from OMS:
-Religious people
-Old people
-Political radicals
-People who lack higher level education
-The majority of American Republicans

Person with OMS: "Pornstars are whores, they should be ashamed of themselves for doing what they do!"

A rational person: "Whoa, dude, calm down. I know you suffer from objective morality syndrome, but you have to realize that your idea of the human body isn't THE idea of the human body. People have sex, everyone wants to have sex, why are you so deadset against them?"

term coined after the press Barron Rupert Murdoch, used to indicate a corporations mind set that uses bent or twisted morality in the so called public good to countenance amoral behaviour by that corporation. As in hacking of a murdered school girl mobile phone in the name of freedom of the press.

The actions of this drugs company are pour "murdoch's morality" hiding the fact it kills users because they say it gives hope to others.

lost my morality

"Lost my morality" is something that occurs when you lose your last friend from your hometown. While everyone else has moved away, you are still at home, resulting in insanity, aka "lost my morality." Morality in some situations can sometimes be a reference to someone's mind and sanity.

Holding moral qualms based on uninformed notions. Instills a false sense of superiority.

Becky exercises white girl morality as she recycles her Starbucks cup. Little does she know child labor picked the coffee beans and that her "recycled goods" will be shipped to Africa to be burned by their impoverished villages. Yet, she still feels good.

Herding Mentality

Pertaining to the mindset many people have, the need to be near other people (even strangers), often at the disappointment of the strangers/foreign group.

OR

How large numbers of people act in the same ways at the same times.

Parking your car in a space directly next to another, when the entire lot is empty. Also may be used effectively to describe a group's behavior when choosing a spot on an empty beach. If they lay their blanket within a few feet of you, they have demonstrated the herding mentality.

"Did you see where they just put their blanket?! It's practically on top of ours and the ENTIRE beach is empty."

"They totally have the herding mentality."
