A term used by people who think that they're knowledgable about food in an effort to convince other people (and themselves) that they are somehow important. In reality, people who really do know a lot and care a lot about food wouldn't be caught dead using this term to describe themselves.

I ordered a fried egg on my burger and when I received it the egg was runny! I smelled like raw egg for the rest of the day! I'm a huge foodie and this is disappointing.
