Southern slang; typically used in the Carolinas. Pie-dog is used to describe a person that carries gossip from one home to another similar to the way stray dogs bury bones (or some other gift) in exchange for what they dig up. It’s a manipulative tactic that serves to cause derision or conflict between families and the most injurious use of this tactic is used in the workplace. It’s how hostile work environments are formed.
Example one: Althea (a class mate) finds Charles and Beth in a classroom innocently talking. Beth upsets Althea so she tells Beth’s teacher and her mother she saw Beth kissing Charles in the classroom when they were alone. Poor Beth (and Charles) Althea is the pie-dog in this example
Example two: Victor and Venus (both are Althea’s coworkers) are jealous of Althea because she has two jobs and wears nice clothes. Everyday they watch her and talk about her in Spanish: They email their manager after she tells them she knows they are talking about her and informed them they should leaver her alone. The manager begins to mistreat Althea. Victor and Venus are the pie-dogs in this example.
Example three:” you better watch these ppl bring you gossip; any dog that brings a bone is looking to carry one away” . Here this is how Southern ppl warn you about a pie-dog in your presence.

Get the Pot Piemug. Occurs when a person(s) attempting to covertly commit a malicious act(s) against another person(s) are prematurely discovered resulting in poorly scripted justification excuses that present those actions as beneficial to the target person. There are many reasons this can happen but commonly is due to either the collectives inability to properly formulate a well thought out undetectable plan of attack, or their targets unanticipated over attention to details.
"I'm just now hearing that Bob had a drug addiction?"
"Yeah his coworkers tried to make him think it was the drugs he was using making him crazy by doing a bunch of weird stuff but he caught them doing it so it became an Intervention instead of bob actually losing his mind and winding up in the nervous hospital "
"What did he do then? "
"Bob's been in a good mood since putting down the drugs and since having cleaned out the care pie. Probably won't do anything at all if coworkers continue being good coworkers, but the statue of limitations on those actions committed lasts a long time so they'll have to keep that up for a while."
"Is bob mad about being care pied?"
"I don't think so. Like any paranoid weirdo bob learned that the dick was in his ass early and instead of fighting it he learned to enjoy it. Can't say I'd be the same way. What about that local school and/or college sports team?"
