Mari was Sunny’s older brother and Hero’s lover. She was not great at flirting but still sweet and loved by her friends. She used to play sports until she got a bad knee. Her influenced was felt on every member of her friend group - she inspired Sunny’s love for music and Basil’s love for photography.
Aubrey in particular looked up to Mari, and when they were older Aubrey wanted to dye her hair pink and Mari to dye her hair purple, just for fun. This inspires many of the game’s color schemes - When we meet Aubrey she sports bright pink hair, and the headspace imaginary versions of Sunny’s friends all have purple hair.
However, despite all that was great about her, Mari’s perfectionism and her practice sessions for playing a recital eventually broke her little brother, resulting in Sunny accidentally pushing her to her doom in an incident which has since been dubbed “Ayo the pizza here”. But her spirit has been shown to be forgiving of Sunny, wanting him to find peace with himself.

She is smart , beautiful, and kind. Did I mention she’s beautiful?! Has very high expectations of herself. She has hobbies and dreams that she feels she will never fulfill, but she will get there eventually. She makes everyone close to her so proud. Those who are against her, are just jealous of her courage and passion for life. She makes you want to live, like you can breathe again...Even the silence is serene.
