a House moment

A sudden flash of genius, when one is trying to solve a complicated problem or frustrating issue. Inspired by the show House M.D. Typically near the end of the episode; Dr. House, in deep thought or from seeing a clue around him, finally finds the right diagnosis.

After accidentally spilling a bottle of black ink on my carpet, I tried to get it off with an old sponge before it dried. While panicking to clean it, I had a House moment. I ran to my bathroom, grabbed a bottle of shampoo, poured it on the spill, and scrubbed it spotless.

A lapse of memory, logic or mental function which is atypical or unusual. The individual suffering the event, may not necessarily be advanced in age, although senior citizens are more likely to experience an occurrence.

Mom had a "senior moment" yesterday when she poured laundry detergent into the dryer.

A way to describe a situation that is awkward or uncomfortable and which could have hilarious consequences, reminiscent of one that would occur in a sitcom.

"Hey man, you hear about Robby?"
"No bro, what?"
"He only went and invited Veronica to the school dance, and then accidently invited her twin sister Tracy to the dance too!!"
"Ha, what a Sitcom moment".

Biscuit Moment

The precise moment when a player, usual on a first person shooter reaches for a biscuit to their side, thus momentarily leaving their controller and making themselves vulnerable to sniper fire. More predominantly known as the KitKat moment in the UK.

Biscuit Moment: Whilst playing Call Of Duty 4 online, Tim reached for the conveniently placed biscuits to his left only to find once returning that he had been shot in the head by a sniper.

Whilst targeting this guy online I was waiting for the all important KitKat moment before taking appropriate action.
