The time during the doning of the condom.
Signifying that things were getting serious and action could occur soon.
Popularized use of observation balloons during the first World War. The sight of such a large balloon going up nearly always resulted in a barrage of juice/shells following soon after.
The expression was re-inforced during WW2 when the hoisting of barrage balloons was part of the preparations for an air-raid notifying the gunners it is safe to to open fire.

Chuck always gets excited when the balloon goes up.
I heard the ballon was going up over at your place the other day. Yeah, I heard that Xi put the balloon up quickly and Biden wasn't quite ready to take it.
President Biden when Xi's balloon went up:
"We’re Going to Take Care of It"

We all remember that day when we learned what cancer was, but my parents in particular did excruciatingly well telling me that half of my mom's side of the family had cancer and that they were going to eventually die. In fact, I think she first told us(me and my brother), at the ripe age of 4 and 2, that our grandma had stage 3 breast cancer and was going to die. She didn't even tell us what cancer was, for fuck's sake. And the consequence of that was me going on for another 8 years thinking cancer was instant death and that different parts of your body could get it.... Like, what the fuck? And then turns out my Grandpa had prostate cancer, so that was fun, but not as lethal. Another one of my great-uncles had ball cancer AND lung cancer. I can only pray that I don't share any of their fates, but I think one of the reasons she escaped it was because she went to med school. Definitely not me, so I can only hope.
Mother: Son, your grandma is going to die.
Son, crying: What?! Why??
Mother, in a perfectly calm face like this happens to her all the time: Cancer.
Son, noticing her lack of caring: Fuck you. Goodnight forever.

Get the When your parents explain to you what cancer is mug. It's an amazing feeling, full of tears and an overwelming sense of love that will drive you crazy and never let you go. This person will enter your life and never leave, even if it is just in your mind. You will lose sleep planning how you'll smile at them, or how what you'll talk about if you happen to bump into them. You'll plan your whole day around them, notice every change in them, every bit of happiness, every bit of sadness and you'll conjure up amazing fantasy's which you know will never come true but you tell yourself that there's always room for dreaming. You'll want to talk about them all the time, discretely of course, mentioning them as much as possible, practicing how their name will roll of your tounge, you might even try putting your surname on their name or the other way round. It may seem like i'm describing obsession, but it's really just love.
'when the person you love will never love you back.' 'oh, i haven't slept for weeks thinking if only they did love me back..oh well,i can dream.'
