Giving fake sympathy to someone who is full of self pity / playing the victim role / wants attention (they are whinging/whining over nothing usually) - but really you just want to tell them to shut the fuck up!

Someone who likes to share their misery 24/7 with everyone in order to get sympathy (for example on facebook) - 'So fed up I slumped on my bed while nobody cares :o(' (OH POOR YOU!!)

A plastic grocery bag filled with an assortment of cheap beers found in the back of the fridge, usually brought to a party by a low class individual, who ends up drinking your beer anyway.

What is said Tony: I will stop and get some beer on the way to your house.

What actually happens: Tony shows up with a poor mans six pack, aka. natty and Old Mill. in a grocery bag to a liquor party

We were on the phone last night & she told me that she's been living in a shitty motel for 3 years with 4 other family members. The grandfather has a job but it doesn't bring in good money. They hardly have any food to eat. Their super poor. I'm about to get a job and help them out.-tj

The exact opposite of a bourgeois (middle to upper class). A system in which people strive to be respectably poor looking. Buy clothes that make you seem homely, so that people do not expect that you are truly wealthy. Its "cultural camoflauge" Look impoverished, when you truly have excess moneys. Its a Status Symbol.

John was a rich mf, but because he kept getting moochers, he decided to dress in a poorgeois fashion. Now no one expects his wealth.

Poor Man's Porsche

The phrase refers to the engineering similarities between the low priced Chevrolet Corvair of the 1960s and the Porsche 356.

The phrase "Poor Man's Porsche" was actually coined in a May 1963 Car & Driver article while road testing a Chevroloet Corvair Monza Spyder. Chevrolet turned the staid, economy oriented, four door Corvair into a sport compact with the addition of bucket seats and a 4-speed transmission with manual floor shift. These features, combined with the Corvair's rear mounted, all aluminum, air cooled motor and 4-wheel independent suspension drew inevitable comparisons between the Corvair and the Porsche 356. But the top of the line turbocharged Corvair Monza Spyder costs just a shade over $2,700 while the cheapest Porsche 356 powered by a 1600 cc air cooled flat four ran over $4200, with high performance versions such as the 4-cam Carrera 2 costing well over six grand. This comparison became even more prominent when Porsche introduced their 911 model in 1964 (now both cars had an all aluminum, air cooled, flat six motor) but the price diferential was now even greater, hence "The Poor Man's Porsche" moniker proliferated.
