Denatonium Benzoate

Also known as "Bitrex".

Denatonium benzoate is considered the most bitter substance in the world.

It is some nasty stuff, tasting like crap.

In most of the world, it is added to certain car products nowadays as an effective deterrent to help prevent accidental ingestion.

Denatonium benzoate is considered non-toxic to humans, but it can cause some mild side effects as well as nausea, due to its super bitter properties.

It is also used to make methylated spirits, denatured alcohol, or hand sanitiser much less palatable, so people cannot drink them and misuse the products.

It's probably not something you want to have in your drink.
This car antifreeze/coolant contains 90 percent ethylene glycol by volume, but because its a sweet tasting poisonous substance, *denatonium benzoate* has been added to the formulations.
