Not for them to get into a relationship with them, but rather for friendship purposes, even if the friend is a weirdo or not worth the trouble. Some will shame others for doing something, but won't do so for the friend they are semi-simping for. If one was to shame the Semi-Simp for this action, or shame the Semi-Simp's friend, the Semi-Simp will get overly aggressive and defensive. They often neglect family and other friends just to be able to hang out with the friend.
