Fart Scout

When you have to fart but are unsure of if it will smell or not you let out a small fart as a test. The small fart is a Fart Scout.

I am so glad I let out a Fart Scout first because it was rank. I moved to another room to let it rip so I wouldn't make anyone sick.

fart mute

The act of contorting your body or grasping the cheek of your ass and pulling it away from the other cheek in order to mute the sound of a fart. This is usually performed while in the bathroom at dinner parties or at the home of someone to which you are on a first date with. The maneuver is also useful while taking a dump and are on the phone with someone particularly if you have been on hold for 30 minutes and you finally get through to a real person, or an over-the-phone interview. The maneuver requires much skill and practice as too much cheek pull can actually amplify the fart sound to a high pitch squeal so loud that the neighbors dog will start barking.

I ate dinner at this girl's house last week. When I went to the bathroom I felt a huge fart coming so I performed a fart mute maneuver.

Root fart

A large fart that comes after a series of smaller farts; The epicenter of one's flatus.

Roommate #1: Dude, will you please stop farting? The whole living room smells like your ass.

Roommate #2: I've already told you, I'm waiting to get out this root fart and it will all be over. If I try to force it it will only embed it's roots deeper within my bowels.

A particular manner of passing gas that encourages the farter to “step into the fart” with a sense of openness and joy while remaining emotionally detached from the experience itself.
