“yuppies” are young, urban professionals who prioritize wealth, status, and appearances over faith, family, and traditional values. Yuppies are also people who are disconnected from nature, overly reliant on modern conveniences, and focused on materialism rather than spiritual or moral grounding. Yuppies can also be people who think are above others just because of there lifestyle difference and will often go out of there way to complain about others who don't meet there urban views.

Slang for a Young Upwardly Mobile Professional. Many people are saying that the U means Urban, they're wrong. This is most easily disproven by the fact that a commonly used synonym was Yumpie which included the initial for Mobile. Usually people labeled as yuppies are hippie adjacent and profess progressive values on every axis except fiscal.
Growing up amongst a whole bunch of hippies, I was instilled with a healthy distrust of the goddamn Yuppies who act fiscally progressive but perpetuate the entire system of exploitation. As much as hippies suck, yuppies are even worse.
