A paramedic is a medical profession that provides advanced levels of medical care in the pre-hospital setting usually in an emergency. This includes an initial assessment, diagnosis and a treatment plan to manage the patient's health crisis. This care can also be continued en-route to a hospital if more definitive care for the patient is required. In some cases the Paramedic may provide adequate treatment that may resolve the health crisis and may or may not refer the patient onto another health professional.
Most paramedics work in ambulances or medical helicopters however there are some who take up hospital based roles in emergency departments. In some countries paramedics can go onto becoming a form of extended care practitioner similar to a PA or CNP.

Get the Paramore mug.The most amazing rock band ever, in mine and MANY others opinions, who originate from Nashville, TN and consists from 2010 of Hayley Williams (Main Vocalist and sometimes pianist), Taylor York (lead and rhythm guitar) and Jeremy Davis (Bass guitar.) Jason Bynum, Hunter Lamb, John Hembree and most notably Josh and Zac Farro before their departure in late 2010 are all former members of the band. Paramore are creators of many beautifully penned songs with original lyrics which will stun you out of this world when you hear it. Haters of the band tend to be jealous fucks who listen to artists such as Ke$ha, Justin Bieber and Rebecca Black, who coincidentally are some prime examples of auto-tuned "robots" who continue to make music despite the fact that they can't sing without major editing, whereas bands like Paramore only need very little.

The kids of paramus spend their nights at the local applebees and mall almost every weekend in the winter beccuase there is nothing else to do in this town. A richy rich town where you get an $50,000 car for your first car. Everyone says we party hard, yeahh... thats not true at all there are absolutley no parties in this town. You will probably find about half of paramus down at the Jersey shore over the summer. We think we're tough, but really we arent at all.
