Tone Tags

Tone tags help convey tone of voice over text. Often used by those who are neurodivergent.

I advise people to use tone tags to prevent future confusion and distress.

Guide:

/j = joking
/hj = half joking
/ij = inside joke
/c = copypasta
/ly = lyrics
/t = teasing
/lh = light-hearted
/s = sarcasm
/rt = rhetorical question
/srs = serious

/g = genuine
/p = platonic
/r = romantic
/neg = negative connotation
/pos = positive connotation

“I love you!!!! /p”
This could have been read as romantic but the tone tags helps you realize it is platonic love.

Slap tags

The art of placing stickers onto object such as STOP signs, Lamp posts, crosswalk signs, and any other available signs or wall. Also placed in subway trains, transportation buses, and on places of high traffic. Placing a slap tag on any other type of graffiti (spray paint tag, throwie, piece, or mural) is considered disrespect. Slap tags are usually drawn on label 228 of the USPS mailing labels, or printed by the tagger with his personal printer on paper with an adhesive side.

Benny drew his own slap tags and slapped them all around town. A nice way to get your name up fast.

A tone tag is an explanation of the context of a message online. These are often used for neurodivergent people who struggle to understand tone when they are not face to face. They are mostly used on instagram in the autistic community.
/j = joke/joking
/hj = half joking
/s or /sarc = sarcastic
/srs = serious

/nm = not mad
/nf = not forced/forcing

/lh = light hearted
/t = teasing
/g or /gen = genuine/genuine question
/nay = not at you

/m = metaphor

“he was over the moon /m”
“i’m so pissed right now /nay”
“omg that’s so funny /sarc”
“you look amazing /gen /srs”
“i don’t understand, could you please use tone tags for me to know if it’s serious or sarcastic?”
