Shihan

'Shihan' is a Japanese word meaning 'Master-Teacher', or 'Master-Instructor', usually applied to Martial-Arts, but can also be used to describe a 'Master' in general.

My instructor is a Shihan in Kumo-Ryu Jiu-Jitsu.

1. A New Zealand orignated rock band that changed their name to 'Pacifier' post-9/11 because 'Shihad' sound a bit like 'Jihad' and apparently some people are very sensitive about that.
