Psychobilly

Psychobilly is a sub culture of people influenced by the styles, music, attitude, art of old country, circa of the 50's-70's, punk rock, greasers, red-necks, trailer trash, outlaw, sci-fi.

Psychobilly was first used by Johnny Cash. It was spoken while performing the song One Piece At A Time. "Red Ryder, This is the Cotton Mouth in the Psycho-billy Cadillac".

The queen of the trailer park knew she was a real Psychobilly.

a great genre of music that is too fast and dark to be rockabilly and a little too country to be punk. Not all psychos are dirty and have lots of tattoos but a lot do... Think Nekromantix, Tiger Army, Horrorpops and much more and you too will understand.

A long dead British genre of music combining rockabilly and 80's garage trash with B-movie, horror and zombie theatrics. The Meteors claimed to be the only true psychobilly band despite their ditching of the revered double bass. Other example are the Guana Batz, Krewmen, Quakes, Demented Are Go, Skitzo and the Coffin Nails.
Klub Foot was the venue to go to.

A fan of such music characterized by the mutating of a traditional rockabilly pomp into a zombified quiff, shaved to the bone at the back and sides. Sometimes with a shaved section on top which left a horseshoe quiff.

~Only the Meteors are pure Psychobilly.
~Hmmm, bit of a childish attitude there.

A current flavor of the month music/fashion scene. Similar to the ravers of the 90's in that they are all style, and no substance. The girls are usually wanna-be pinup models, shamelessly ripping off betty page's look, while the guys all have the same ridiculous quif haircut, making them look kind of like the eraserhead haircut the dude from kid 'n play had in the 80s. Both sexes are usually covered in generic old school tattoos. When large groups of them get together, it is quite difficult to tell them apart. Often pretend to love old horror movies no one cared about 10 years ago, because it's the thing to do. Just when one thinks they cant get any more laughable, some try to speak in 50's greaser dialects...poorly. Needless to say, this group is the laughing-stock of punk rock.

Norma: "are you goin' to the psychobilly show tonight?"
Ray-ray: "Nah darlin' ima be too busy teasing up my pomp then pickin up peggy-sue from the hair salon"

Much like the fucked up things in the movie "The Hills Have Eyes". But the person is just fucking insane without any nuclear remains around to mess them up. They are just retarded and crazy from the get go.

Really...a psychobilly can be anyone just crazily pissed off or just any freak ass person you see. Someone thats actions or looks can be related to in anyway to the things in "The Hills Have Eyes".
