Greatest Of Right Now

Used to denote the most exciting and dominant athlete at the present time.

While the Gorn is a lizard-like humanoid alien species who famously (and slowly) fought Captain James T. Kirk on Star Trek (the original series), the GORN, when referring to sports and seen in all caps, stands for the Greatest Of Right Now. This is in contrast with the term GOAT, which stands for Greatest Of All Time.

MotoGP pilot Valentino Rossi is arguably the GOAT but Mark Marquez is definitely the GORN.

Dude, Lebron is the GOAT!
