Furb

A slang term used to describe someone who is awkward, lame, or out of touch in a cringey or try-hard way. A “furb” is often seen as a loser, a weirdo, or someone who tries too hard to fit in but completely misses the mark. Can also be used to describe someone acting corny or embarrassing themselves without realizing it.

She wore cat ears to a college lecture and meowed when the professor called on her. What an actual furb.

verb - to commit to making plans and then wait until the last minute and cancel, sometimes without notice, usually causing moderate financial distress to the other party(ies).

You: "Yeah man, I'd love to go. You get the tickets, or hey put me down for a meal, I'll be there! Camping/Floating? I'd love to!"

Example 1:
You (later): "I'm not sure I'm gonna be able to make it, would you be mad?"
Me: "What a furb out!"

Example 2:
You: ...(no notice given)
Me: "What a furb out!"
