It's an European song contest and the participants are only countries from Europe. (Except Israel and Australia) Every country needs to select one of their artist and song to represent them in the contest. Eurovision usually takes place in May. There are two semi-finals and one grand final. The countries who qualify from the semi-finals (max. 10 from each semi-final) are going to the grand final and they have chance to win Eurovision. There are also countries who automatically qualify for the final: Italy, Spain,Uk, France and Germany. (also popular as the big 5) + the host country. The country that won the previous year is the host of the next Eurovision. Every year Eurovision Song Contest has new logo, slogan and theme song. The limit of participating countries is 43. In 2016 Eurovision reached 200 million viewers.
