The Los Angeles Dodgers are a
National league West Division team, first starting in 1883. With 24 National League (NL) pennants, 19 Division Titles, 3 Wild Card Births, and seven World Series titles. Originating in Brooklyn, the team was named after people who would dodge the rail cars in Brooklyn. They have a storied franchise hosting players like Jackie Robinson, breaking the MLB baseball color barrier, Sandy Koufax, Mike Piazza, Clayton Kershaw, Duke Snider, and Steve Garvey. The also have hosted famous coaches like Tommy Lasorda, as well as famous sport broadcaster Vin Scully. The dodgers play in Dodger Stadium, and have played in historic Ebbets Field. As of 2022, they have had successful seasons every year, winning 8 division championships in a row, making the World Series 3 times since 2017, and with one World Series in 2020 against the
Tampa Bay Rays, while loosing to the Houston Astros and
Boston Red Sox in 2017 and 2018 respectively. They currently are main rivals with the
San Francisco Giants, who beat them to eliminate their 8 year division record, in 2021. They have also had previous rivalries with the Yankees and Reds. They have had a VERY devoted but crazy fan base, where on multiple occasions has had numerous fights with opposing fans, but also breaking attendance records year after year. In all, the Los Angeles Dodgers are a historic franchise, who seem to not be slowed down in any way
