Weekend Bulimia 

A person in thier twenties who typically takes good care of their body through consistent excercise. healthy food Intake and not abusing alcohal. However, once the weekend hits, she/he binges on several types of drinks (wine then martini then beer then red bull/vodka then the many shots that are insisted upon taking by the many) and inevitably ends up puking in the bar bathroom stalls.

Weekend Bulimia. Cause it only happens on the weekends. It's not as serious

Drunkard's Bulimia 

The act of inducing vomiting as means of achieving sobriety. Most commonly performed after a night of heavy drinking. Methods include shoving one's finger down his or her throat in a manner similar to famed reality television stars. Although it is theoretically sensible, its effectiveness is uncertain.

*Scene is set at a crowded party. Dude 1 walks into the bathroom and finds Dude 2 sitting in front of the toilet*

Dude 1: Why the hell are you shoving your finger down your throat?

Dude 2: It's called drunkard's bulimia. I heard that it helps you sober up after a night of heavy drinking.

Dude 1: You're a moron.

bulimia 

basically, the only true staple is that we binge, then purge in some way after - be it vomiting(which can be done MANY different ways), starving or exercising aggressively after or taking things like laxatives and diuretics.

i would have added bad body image to that, but some people who are not bulimic or anorexic have problems with their images too

everything else changes for every person.
we all have different causes, triggers, binge foods and amounts.
also, not all bulimics and anorexics are skinny. it could be the 300 pound mom, the teenage boy with a little extra chub or it could be the bony 11 year old in grade 5.
bulimia does not discriminate against weight, age, gender, class or race

usually depression goes along with bulimia, whether your depressed when its starts, or after you realize your in too deep.

bulimia 

A mental disease that effects both girls and boys, people often think of eating disorders only effecting teenage girls but this is very false. Bulimia can effect both girls and boys of all ages. Bulimia is when someone binges, over eats to an EXTREME and then purges in some way. Usually self-induced vomiting, but also over exercising, fasting, or using laxatives. Bulimia is an addiction, and is different from anorexia because it's not always about losing weight or getting thin. It's a coping mechanism as well, and usually bulimics are a normal weight, or sometimes even over weight. It's a very serious disease that eventually WILL be fatal if not stopped. Treatment is often necessary, but not always.

retail bulimia 

A condition in which a person shops incessantly, making extravagent purchases for the pure joy of the acquisition experience, but then returns everything the next day.

"I don't know what came over me - when I was in Nieman Marcus, I just had to have that $400 Versace bag, but once I got it home, I felt so guilty, and it seemed so ugly that I returned it. After that, I felt great - cleaner somehow. I'm afraid I might have retail bulimia."

Bulimia 

Bulimia nervosa isn't just throwing up. Bulimia is binging and purging.

Binging - eating lots of food quickly in a short period of time

Purging - vomiting, laxative abuse, excessive exercise, or fasting

Bulimics don't binge and purge because they think they're fat or because of the media. They do it to gain a sense of control, to calm themselves. Bulimics rarely lose weight, their weight is usually up & down. 10% of bulimics will die from heart attack, malnutrition, or suicide
Eating disorders are coping mechanisms, not about vanity

I've had bulimia since I was 12. A typical binge for me is a pint of ice cream and a full box of macaroni & cheese. All eaten in a half hour, and it usually ends up regurgitated in to a trash bag. I don't do this because I want to be thin, I do it because it helps me cope w/ stress

beer bulimia 

Disorder where the alcohol consumer always throws up after a night of partying; not once in a while, but every time.

Damn it! I can't drink without throwing up. I think I have beer bulimia. Oh well, I guess I won't have a beer gut then.
