the activity you do, or participate in to put off doing something that is not as fun, but more important.
My favorite slacktivity to do instead of writing my 5 page paper that is due tomorrow is to look up random words on Urbandictionary.com.

slacktivism

One of those feel-good internet campaigns that doesn't actually help anybody or has political impact. It's your way of pretending to care while sitting on your butt in front of a computer playing WoW.

Also used for people who want to get a million people on their page by before bettering themselves or the world instead of just doing it.
Girl: Let's show our support by changing our Facebook statuses to promote what color our bras are!

Boy: Why does your status say "nothing"?

Girl: I'm supporting breast cancer awareness via Facebook!

Slactivism

A pejorative neologism combining 'slacker' and 'activism,' sometimes spelled 'slacktivism.' Engaging socially in activism that requires little or no effort as part of a lifestyle or self-identity. Slactivism usually produces no appreciable results and often perpetuates poor research and hearsay.
1. When I heard that Jack was boycotting Taco Bell because he said they exploit tomato farmers in Latin America, I knew it was more of Jack's slactivism. He never visited Taco Bell anyway.

2. Jill thought of herself as an activist. She always hit "Like" on Facebook whenever a social justice issue came up, and she was a part of several Political Action Committee fan pages, but her friends knew her slactivism couldn't be counted on to write Congress or go beyond a few mouse-clicks.

The search for the ultimate feel-good that derives from having come to society's rescue without having had to actually gets one's hands dirty or open one's wallet.
It's slacktivism that prompts us to want a join a boycott of designated gas companies or eschew buying gasoline on a particular day rather than reduce our personal consumption of fossil fuels by driving less.

Completed work, albeit completed poorly due to nonchalance, intentional lack of attention to detail, or by person just not giving a sh!t.

Occasionally, slacktivity can lead to being relieved of a duty that said person might not want to be doing anyway, when used strategically.
Coworker A: Look at all these glasses in the cabinet! They aren't in the proper lines, so they don't all fit. Plus, some of them are facing up, and not facing down as everyone should always have them placed.

Coworker B: Yep. It's Jeff's week on kitchen duty. He is a master of slacktivity.

Coworker A: FORGET IT. I'll just do the kitchen stuff on his weeks.
