Notification nightmare

Receiving a slew of notifications for one or more pictures/videos/etc that one is affiliated with on Facebook. Caused when other people tagged in that picture/video/etc keep commenting. Hast the tendency to clog up e-mail inboxes and results in a pileup of red notifications in the lower right hand corner of the facebook screen toolbar. Can be very annoying or amusing, depending on the individual.

I woke up this morning to a notification nightmare when I saw that 50 new comments had been posted about the candid picture I snapped of Derek cheating on Hailey.

Notification Sniped

When you press a button at the top of your phone (eg back), and a notification pops up in the motion of pressing the button that you you accidentally press it and open something you don’t want to open.

to comment on on a large amount of someones myspace/facebook pictures, therefor giving them a lot of notifications/ pictures to check,pissing them off.

I will "notification-rape" him by adding pointless comments to all of his " mexico 08" pictures, which will leave him pretty fucking pissed.

Notification bomb

The act of getting a group of people to all get on to a certain person's Facebook page and like everything on that page. When that person gets on Facebook later, they will have hundreds of notifications.

Ex. John: "Dude I got onto Facebook and had 143 notifications! I was excited until I realized it was because of you asshole dropping a notification bomb on me."

Notification Effect

Entering an app with the intent of completing a task only to be distracted by the in-app notification. You then leave the app only to return again to try and accomplish your original task.

I went on Twitter to send a DM but I fell victim to the notification effect when I saw that little counter. Only once I closed the app did I remember what I originally needed to do.
