ie man is a generic term used to smooth out an awkward situation simply by pointing your finger up and saying ie man, also pronounced “E man” it can also be used to say hello to someone simply by pointing your finger up and saying it to them.

*in awkward situation and don’t know what to say

Him: so...
Me: * points up* ie man.
Him: starts up a conversation about the galaxy for 3 hours

Chilli-ie.

When one is making a dish containing chilli, but has used too much of said spice and ruined dinner/lunch etc,.

"I'm making chilli soup, but it's too chilli-ie." Or, "This currie's burning my mouth, it's too fu**ing chilli-ie".
