So far all of you guys are wrong that said things about Elmira. There are some bad places in Elmira, but just as many good places. Yes there are projects, crackhouses, and gangs, but it isn't that bad of a place to live. The one that said "bad shit rarely goes down" is very wrong because Elmira does have a high crime rate for a city of its size.
The people that posted the other things obviously have never lived in Elmira and haven't seen it all.

Good bye high paying factory jobs, jazz clubs, social outlets and simple pride. Visit Corning or Ithaca where you won't feel guilty for wasting your time and money. Get the Elmiramug. Busy crossroads in Northern Michigan where potato fields, ironworkers, snowmobiles , a bar and a Subway combine to create something out of nothing.
The snow really picked up near the top of Elmira Pass, luckily i followed the plow thru the potato fields and arrived at Subway, just before lunchtime at the ironworks
