1.)Goths are people that normall yearn to be different, but by all being different, they become their own "culture" which keeps them from being different. People that are not "goth" tend to think that goths are creepy, weird, evil, satanic, or just plain dumb or strange. Well...no, theyre not. i may not be a goth, but they are just people. that happen to be dressed differently than other people. 2.)The word comes from a tribe that invaded a part of the Roman Empire, but just as the Romans, fell when the Huns attacked/invaded.

Get the gothmug. A follower/fan of music that was different/older/barbaric compared to others. There is really no specific type, as pop can also be included. There is also not necessarily much else in common, as with any other group. A "goth" can be anyone, assuming they enjoy the music described.
Misuse has also applied the term to metalheads, industrial fans, and the "suicidal" yuppie children. The bands currently labeled incorrectly as gothic include Marilyn Manson, Slipknot, and most nu-metal, or industrial-metal hybrids.

In real terms a goth is just an ancient Roman person who lived long long ago. but it has developed so much since then...like...um...well let's see...many people see goths as homo's or queers who want attention but many goth WANT TO BE LEFT ALONE!!!!! Get the Gothmug. 1) A person who dresses different. Most goths dress in black. Goths do not worship Satan and are not suicidal. You can be a suicidal goth, but you can also be a suicidal prep. Alot of goths are fun, perky, smart, creative, sarcastic (mostly) and some wear bright clothing. A gothic person can be whatever they want to be. Even if you dont wear "goth clothing" you could be a goth. A goth is a person who calls themself a goth.

Get the gothmug. Calling yourself a Goth in the terms of a "culture" is being a hypocrite. One should not waste their time with such labels and just be themselves. You can like things of a Gothic nature but that does not mean they have to call yourself a Goth. Goths sometimes attempt to call themselves individuals when they are just conforming to another trend, it is an utterly pointless label. I like my bed, does not mean I have to conform to some sort of 'duvet-bandits' crew.
