A piece of code that attends a message queue, processing each message in turn.

Message pumps are a staple of GUI programming, since messages are used to receive input.

The program abandoned the message pump and Windows eventually marked the window as not responding.

When you're computer of laptop finally get so old that the "Your Virtual Memory Is Too Low" message appears in the bottom right corner of the screen.

Man 1: Hey, have you seen Jack at all today?
Man 2: Nah, he got the dinosaur message for the 5th time today so he's gonna trade up.

Predator Message

A text or IM message that has no content (blank message). Aptly named after the film series where the aliens where cloaking devices to make themselves invisible. It is usually accidental.

A:*Receives a text message from B that is blank. Responds with a wtf.*
B:*Sends a text to A saying two words only 'Predator Message'.*

I had to give my aunt a message to let her know my balls were OK. I gave her an unstant message her via post that they were back to normal.

parallel message

Another message individuals express by means of the tonality, volume, pitch, or pacing they use while expressing the main message. It can support, compliment, refute, deny, or even contradict the main message.

When the girl said, "You're welcome" in a tone which said, "You're not fucking welcomed you fucking idiot," I knew something was up. To understand parallel messages say any word in the opposite intonation of what it means. Say "beautiful" while making a face of disgust. Say "ugly" as if you were saying "beautiful."
