Why do so many men sabotage relationships and careers? Current cultural stereotypes of men range from bumbling incompetence to aggressive, macho insensitivity. I’ve worked with men in therapy and personal growth workshops for over 25 years, and I’ve identified a type of adult man I call the LATE Men, Lost, Angry Teens, and they are often stuck in an adolescent level of development – literally, LATE to grow into full adult functioning.

We all have four primary internal parts: An Inner Child, a Teenager, an Inner Critic, and a loving, responsible Adult. The Teenager seeks independence, identity, and acceptance with peers. Teens may also become rebellious, angry, confused and withdrawn. Adjustment problems are more likely to occur in distressed or dysfunctional families, where adolescents do not receive the guidance, emotional support, and other resources necessary for healthy maturation and individuation.

Little Miss Mason

A person who tends to hum and dance in front of the telly to annoy her friends. Has an affinity for kittens, melons and rugby neanderthals. Generally a girly-girl at heart despite having a mean streak and an underlying dark, twisted sense of humour.

Sweet and playful at times though frighteningly violent when intoxicated. When provoked, items hurled at friends include: rotten apple cores, old newspapers and home made fish-finger sandwiches (don't forget the tartar sauce!).

Will you move your butt and stop dancing in front of the TV?! I wanna change channels- stop being such a Little Miss Mason dammit!

Little Spoon Syndrome

Little Spoon Syndrome, or LSS for short, occurs when a couple is spooning. The man naturally finds himself often being the little spoon while his girlfriend takes the role of the big spoon. This role reversal is rare, but does occur, usually with men who a big and tall, but still have an emotional side. Although at times emasculating, it is often quite comforting.

John: Hey Ryan, it looks like that guy over there has some serious LSS
Ryan: Do you mean Little Spoon Syndrome? Yeah, that guy definitely has LSS.

Little Brother Syndrome

The inverse of paranoia about the governing power or establishment collecting information about an individual. (See Big Brother) Those afflicted by little brother syndrome intentionally share and broadcast information about themselves via social networks, check-in websites, and GPS devices, often with little regard to personal privacy, or long-term consequences. Possibly a form of exhibitionism, this definition of Little Brother Syndrome may be related to, or even a consequence of another definition of Little Brother Syndrome wherein a person vies for attention to make up for feeling under-appreciated.

Grover apparently doesn't care who knows all about him, as he posted his home address, salary, and cell phone number to Twitter, Facebook, MySpace, and Wikipedia today. He's definitely suffering from Little Brother Syndrome

When used in a brittish accent, it means an annoying
homosexual. "little dutch boy" by itself without a british accent means a child that happens to be dutch. However, by adding a british accent you change the meaning to an annoying homosexual
