To aspire to be "human" is to value "might makes right," "kill or be killed," "winner takes all," "territorialism," "tribalism." To be a humane rather than a human means to aspire to community, negotiation, mutual respect, inclusiveness, protectiveness, sharing, and the golden rule. Not the rule of gold (human).
