The act of laying face down, horizontally across an object whilst being photographed.

This trend exploded in Australia in May, 2011, gaining the attention of media the world over.

planking

to lay face down flat with nose on ground and arms by your side to resemble a plank of wood. Not to be confused with a suprised planker or an hopeful homo planker. Extreme planking is the performance of planking in a dangerous or illegal place i.e on a police car or sign or high ledge.

To perform a suprised planker simply sneak up on a planking person and jam/stick any number of fingers into their asshole.
A hopeful homo planker is one who planks in the hope of becoming a surpised planker i.e lays down to plank well knowing and hoping to have fingers pushed against their asshole.

Planking is the act of lying horizontal, face-down in various locations and acting like a "Plank". Photographs are then taken and posted on the internet so everyone can see how awesome your planking skills are. Both location and difficulty of the plank are important.

An extreme young old sport in which a person lies outstretched on or beside an object. Correct form requires an expressionless face and arms pointed towards feet.
