Get the Divinocracy mug.Something the Urban Dictionary doesn't believe in because instead of letting urbdic users upvote or downvote a definition, they have this friend called the Algorithm. He is a mythical genie who decides what goes viral and what doesn't. Unfortunately, he/she/they/them/him/her/ will choose whether something has more likes than dislikes or has more dislikes than likes rather than people on urban dictionary to decide for themselves.
Urban dictionary needs to put Algorithm in retirement and impose a democracy so the urbdic community can decide which definition is good and which definition is bad.

They will choose a government who will make decisions on their behalf and rely on the president and representatives to create decisions in their best interests. Presidential elections (USA) take place every 4 years and General election (UK) takes place every 5 years. The next presidential/General election is taking place in 2024 for both countries.
Democracy Is an effective form of government which provides fairness as the public have the right to have a say in who should run the country next.

Get the Democracy mug.Democracy hasn't retreated or gone anywhere, but it hasn't been revived in a long time either. Long before the mask and vaccine mandates and restrictions there was the post 9/11 airport security people had tolerated because they decided they valued safety over personal freedom and rights. Kids born after the year 2000 might not even have much sense of democracy or personal freedom, since they've only known the airport security and travel bans since 9/11 and the pandemic, respectively. These folks are used to accepting what they see and hear in the news perhaps, and doing what they are told by authorities rather than questioning whether the authorities know what they are talking about.
Kids born after 2000, if they have any sense of democracy at all, must think it isn't something they might have to wake up and fight/bleed to keep.
