When a young man slightly bumped into Jill in aisle 3 of the supermarket David quickly manplained rebuking the young man in a rather loud manner resulting in a "major scene" despite the fact that the man nor Jill for that matter deemed the the slight contact worthy of any type of verbal exchange.

A term used to shame and shut down a man who a woman felt was "talking down to her" about a subject that she already knows about. - For example, a man trying to explain how an airplane works to a woman who has been a pilot for twenty years.
