preppy goth

a person of the gothic subculture that buys all of there clothes at high dollar stores( you know which one comes to mind) then basicly brags about it, they are the preps of the subculture and are more apt to be depressed over credit card statements then the fact that the world is ending slowly.

girl: check these out I got them at ( you know where) for only ninety bucks!

guy: I never realized that you were such a preppy goth...

preppy

a southern prep: Often will wear the same thing as any other preppy person including polos, pearls, ribbons but will also include many different colors of seersucker (never after Labor Day) and cameo hats for boys often times for their state college of choice. Conservative with a lot of southern pride! Usually don't like "yankees" too much. Might go to a New England school but will probably end up at a school like UVA or UNC (the really smart ones) or another southern school like Bama, Ole Miss, Vandy, Georgia, etc. Will join a fraternity or sorority and be very active members. Many southern preppy families are inter-related. Many of the girls will be Debs and will eventually marry a nice southern gentleman. Most likely have gone hunting before. Will probably have houses either in Mississippi (Biloxi) or Sea Island or other exclusive locales like that. Often like sailing and are part of country clubs. Love southern tradition and are very set in their ways.

Richard is always such the preppy southern gentleman, and he looks so good in his cameo hat and popped collar at the UVA football games.

preppy

i am really amazed by lots of these entries. a lot of them seem to get the whole jist of being preppy.. but much of them don't. there really isn't even.. a certain way you have to be which a lot of these people here are saying. preppys are just normal people. just like any person, they can be nice, mean, snobby, perfect, hideous, amazing.. you can't help how you were born. being preppy is the life you were born into. typically, it means attending a prestigious private school (usually boarding) and then continuing on to a prestigious private college. it's a priveledged lifestyle. that's really all. there are tons of preppys in the world, typically, yes they do live in the northeast but if you live in a suburb of boston and then your family needs to move to.. idk.. florida.. you are still you. your preppy family has it's ways and that's how they live. also typically preppys do wear clothes from places like polo ralph lauren, lacoste, patagonia, ll bean, vineyard vines, jcrew, and anywhere! it's all about the classics. the stores i just listed are where you can get everything preppy. but you can find a classic piece at any store. just look.

being preppy is just a lifestyle.

Preppy Emo Girl

A girl that is emo but dresses preppy to disguise herself to the common eye. The preppy emo girl can be deceiving in most circumstances but if you have emo radar you can pick her out of a crowd of emo kids.

"Dude..that girl looks preppy but she's so emo. She must be a preppy emo girl!"

"Stop crying preppy emo girl you might get your Jessica Simpson shoes wet."

1. You go to a private school on the east cost

2. you plan on attending a top private university or college

3. Your wardrobe consist of pastels.

4. you summer in Martha's Vineyard, Nantucket or the Cape, but never "The Island"

5. you drive either a BMW, Audi, Volvo, Land Rover, or a vintage Mercedes

6. you are conservative

7. you come from a WASP background

8. you are well off

9. you live in the northeast

A typical preppy line: "I took my Mercedes to Martha's Vineyard this weekend were I played polo"
