lag spike 

A term used to cover up poor performance of a player in a multiplayer game. The term describes the delay in the thought process of the player and his inability to perform as the rest of the group would expect from a player with their claimed experience and gear.

"Sorry for wiping the group, I'm getting major lag spikes."

(Player realises they messed up and are at risk of being kicked from a party): "Sorry for stepping on that bomb, I'm getting major lag spikes."

Team member: "FFS kick the noob paladin, they've done less dps than both tanks for the last five wipes and they've stood in the fire every time!"
Paladin: "Sorry. I've been getting lag spikes all evening."

Lag Tag 

A saying used by gamers to describe how they were killed/cheated death. A play on the word frag tag, only the lag on the server is the reason you died/ avoided a serious can of ass whoopery.

Gamer 1: I hate this game, I just emptied a whole mag into that guy and all he does is look at me and I'm dead. Fucking lag tag!

Gamer 2: Ha Haa, lag tag mother fucker. You can't catch me! boom!!! yo dead lol

When someone's internet connection is so bad they appear to be teleporting. While at times being an accidental occurrence, it is often purposely done with the
intent of making the other player "ragequit". Generally followed up by hate mail and spam, Lag-O-Port is looked down upon, by everyone except scrubs.
