A doge is just a Shiba Inu that was turned into a meme. Said meme was popular in the early 2010s, and slowly died down over the years. The dog featured in the doge meme is a Shiba Inu named Kabosu (かぼす in Japanese), born on November 2nd, 2005. She is currently 16 years old, a great accomplishment, considering 16 human years is equivalent to 80 dog years. So, to sum it up: Doge, an internet meme that sky rocketed in 2013 and died down overtime. Based on a real Shiba Inu named Kabosu, or かぼす in Japanese. Kabosu is currently 16, equivalent to 80 years old for a dog.
That's the doge.
That's the doge.
(Pretend it's 2013)
"Man, have you heard about that super popular meme Doge?"
"Yeah, people are going crazy over it!"
(Back to 2021)
"dOgE!"
"Dude, shut the hell up, that meme's been dead for a while now."

The term 'doge' started from a image of a shiba inu that turned into a reaction image. It was surrounded with words written in comic sans, terms such as 'wow'. The term now not only refers to the meme, but it can be used to describe any Shiba Inu. If you want to describe a dog that is not a shiba inu, please use the term doggo. Doggo is used to refer to any dog.

THE BEST YELLOW DOG EVER! She's originally named as Kabosu, and she already died in 2017. Yesterday's her 14th birthday.
