Someone that plays with a gun/guns dangeriously in general but can be used for someone that bought a gun/riffle to use it for hunting but ended up killing people/citicens/their family relatives/endangered animals.
Stay away from him! That guy is such a gun player!
That guy must be a gun player, I heard he killed his wife!
Stay away from her! She could be a gunplayer as well as a mafia!
He bought the riffle to hunt some animals like ducks but ended up killing a rhino instead.

Get the Slinging the gunmug. If you've played CoD, then you've probably heard of this mythical device. It's the one thing that most fans of FPS games would want a good variation of when they go on their game.

Get the Gunmug. The inverse of a Chekhov's Gun.
A literary device that would be perceived as vital to the plot of a story, only to hold little to no actual significance later.
Not to be confused with a Red Herring, which are used intentionally to mislead or distract the reader. A Dehydration Gun would commonly result from poor writing decisions, or plot holes.
The term derives from an item of the same name, in the movie 'Megamind vs. The Doom Syndicate', where it would have been a valid solution to many of the obstacles the movie provides, but is not used.

"Wait... Couldn't they have just used that thing from the beginning of the story?"
"I know, right? But no, it just turned out to be a Dehydration Gun."
