The Ortega Line

This is the point where technology projects are typically abandoned for brighter and more fun projects. Usually 80%, and the remaining work is usually the inglorious stuff like documentation, security and common sense. Named after RA Ortega, the man responsible for delivering technology projects at scale, using under the influence.

Shit, no wonder I can't find anyone. This project hit the Ortega line, and everyone bagged ass.

Line of Liability

The hospital’s invisible line outside the main lobby doors where they wheel their patients to after they are discharged. Utterly nervous that the discharged patient will slip and fall before they exit the hospital, a collective sigh of relief by the hospital lawyers after the patient has been wheeled to the line of liability, steps out of the wheelchair, and walks away.

The hospital staff gingerly helped the discharged patient exit out of the wheelchair and take a step over the Line of Liability. The patient could have collapsed after that and crawled to their car, but it wouldn’t matter; they had crossed the Line of Liability.

A song from Schoolhouse Rock, which depicts a Civil War-esque delivery boy sending messages and death threats to various people in the song. Telegraph Line is also famously known for having a robot with a lit-up screen being sexually abused by Mr. Hand, mainly in the areas of the foot.
