Better Homes and Gardens

the fourth best selling magazine in the United States. The editor in chief is Stephen Orr.
In country recording artist Miranda Lambert's 2010 hit single titled "The House That Built Me", there is a verse that says, "Mama cut out pictures of houses for years from Better Homes and Gardens magazine".

Home run ball

In American Football, an ill-advised or poorly-thrown deep pass with little chance of completion.
“On third and seventeen.... home run ball... and that falls nowhere near anyone. Andre Johnson was the closest thing you could call a receiver for that one, Jim...”

Home-schooled

To be taught at home rather than the god-awful abominations that are public schools. Or, as all the definitions that are no doubt above this one say, it is a person who, do to living an "isolated" life, is a socially awkward person, an idiot with no fashion sense, or a retarded person. (I'm allowed to complain about public schools because I was in one for a while, by the way.)
Person A: I just got back from school, where I learned information that I already knew, didn't really need to know and wasn't interested in knowing about, and stuff that I just didn't understand.

Person B: I'm home-schooled, so I got to learn about things that I'm interested in, and none of it was overly complicated, so I had enough time focus on my interests and maintain a healthy sleep schedule!

Home-style

To "home-style" something means to do it on your own, in your own way. To not depend on society and rules to help you out.
Joyce: Jim! What happened to your leg?!
Jim: Aw shit, Joyce! My cat bit me and I think the cut may be infected.
Joyce: That's the third time this week. Jim, you outta think about putting that cat down.
Jim: But I don't have the money to put her down.
Joyce: *hands Jim a knife* Then home-style it.

home hangover

When you’ve been in your hometown or staying with your parents for too long, usually during the holidays, and are the point where you resent or are sick of your family and just want to get back to your own apartment. People can have different tolerance levels before they get a home hangover - for someone it might be a week, or it might be eight hours.
I should have cut my visit home over Christmas by two days, I’ve got the worst home hangover now.

Home-basing

Instead of calling it being lazy… we shall call it home-basing.

Because that is a verb, people.

And your family appreciates you just taking up space sometimes.
I am going to indulge in some lazy home-basing this Sunday. The kids will be stopping in and out for snacks and the neighbors might pop in for quick visits. Maybe I’ll catch up laundry and make cookies… I don’t know.
