Get the ten points to gryffindor!mug. n. Parody of the techspeak term point-and-click interface, describing a windows, icons, and mouse-based interface. The implication, of course, is that such an interface is only suitable for idiots. Also point-and-grunt interface.

Get the point-and-drool interfacemug. A neighborhood in South Philadelphia. Generally, the boundaries are from Washington Av on the North, 17-18th streets on the East, and Mifflin on the southern edge. Some consider it down to Snyder Ave on the southern end. It was historically Irish/Italian, but became majority black by the 60s, and was an extremely rough, dangerous place from the 70s on. The last decade or so has seen gentrification and new construction, which has improved the area. It still has another decade or so before one would consider Point Breeze a safe neighborhood. Point Breeze is a tough hood, but the residents are proud to be from there and everyone has grit and heart.
They just built some more condos in Point Breeze, I heard that area is “up and coming”.
Sure, rents are cheaper than the surrounding neighborhoods, but you pay the price of safety instead. Two of my roommates have been robbed walking home.

Get the Friction pointmug. Said to acknowledge someone else's explanation of something and thank them for it, with the added undertone of acknowledging that yeah now that you think about it, really that should have been obvious all along and you were being stupid for even asking the question in the first place.
An early (and possibly the first) appearance of the phrase, with this undertone, occurs in a joke in the 1992 episode "Holoship" of British sci-fi comedy TV series Red Dwarf, with the following exchange:
The Cat : Why don't we drop the defensive shields?
Kryten : A superlative suggestion, sir. With just two minor flaws. One, we don't have any defensive shields. And two, we don't have any defensive shields. Now I realise that technically speaking that's only one flaw but I thought that it was such a big one that it was worth mentioning twice.
The Cat : Good point, well made.
