TAM Potato

(Engineering) An undefined blob resembling a potato, drawn in a free-body diagram to represent a body with some known and some unknown quantities. This is especially prevalent in TAM (Theoretical and Applied Mechanics) courses.

I didn't even bother drawing a car for problem #6 last night -- I just drew a TAM potato on wheels!

mashed potato convention

Telling some one about a mashed potato convention Will instantly make them think "Who the fuck would take the time to set up a mashed potato convention". Then upon Explaining it to them will increasingly want to go. The need to go will become so strong that when they figure out there is no mashed potato convention they are very depressed.
