Kessler syndrome

Kessler syndrome is what you get when you put so much crap into low earth orbit that one collision between two satellites starts a chain reaction of space junk creation that makes it impossible to keep anything in space without it being destroyed.

Person: I want to put my satellite in orbit of earth but can't because of Kessler syndrome!

Matrix Syndrome

An instinctive and unfounded hatred of any replacement, sequel etc. which fails to fill the immense shoes of its predecessor.

Guy 1: "Shit, how bad were Pirates 2 and The Matrix Reloaded?"
Guy 2: "Ah cmon, they both had their merits"
Guy 1: "Nah, completely sucked ass, with no redeeming features"
Guy 2: "Think you're suffering from Matrix Syndrome dude"

Northwestern Syndrome

The technical term for being affected by a loss of confidence and motivation as a result of being bested by an adversary that was thought to be inferior. The term was first used to describe the affliction of the Minnesota Golden Gophers football team, which lost its final four games by a combined 102 points after a loss to the Northwestern Wildcats on an interception return for a touchdown.

Student: "Man, I was feeling so good after I made it on the Dean's List last semester, but after I got rocked by that vocabulary quiz last week, I think I'm developing Northwestern Syndrome."
