A statement found on several Deadheads' vehicle rear bumpers expressing thanks to the late Jerry Garcia, singer, guitarist, songwriter and icon for the San Francisco roots rock band the Grateful Dead. The Grateful Dead disbanded in December 1995 after the death of Jerry Garcia earlier in the year.

The Grateful Dead are an American institution.
They truly loved to play rock'n'roll music as well as its roots, the band was very devoted to these things.
Thank you Jerry.

To fix or put together using non-standard or improvised materials. A derivation of jury-rig, from the nautical term jury mast. This term refers to a temporary mast raised when the normal mast has been lost due to storm or battle. This is probably a short form of injury mast.
Not to be confused with Jerry-built, which refers to an original construction of poor quality.

A fadish hairstyle popular with African Americans in the 80's. Tightly curly "black" hair is chemically treated to be long an wavy. Jerry Curls had to be "rewetted" constantly with Jerry Curl activator to prevent drying out. Jerry Curl "juice" is responsible for staining millions of coat and shirt collars, automobile headrests, and sofa backs.

The Jerry Curl fad is one that many blacks would rather forget.
