Benchmarxist

A person who believes that benchmarks/benchmarking is the ONLY thing that matters instead of the overall usability and/or feel of something

Also: benchmarxism.

Examples would be the constant and boring IOS vs Android, OSX vs Windows, Intel Vs AMD, Imports vs Domestic (cars), Single vs Multicore debates, etc.

Person01: "Man, your MyFlush 3G phone SUCKS. It only has ONE core! Look at my quadrant results. That's right, I got 87,000.6! because I have 57 cores with my P-Mobile MegaDouche 4GS II"
Person02: "Efing benchmarxist! Not everything is about specs! my phone works PERFECTLY"
Person01: "Perfectly slow and old with a tiny, tiny screen!"
Person02: ":/ Gotta wait 'till my plan resets"

the bench

n. not just a bench, but "the" bench. This is where starting baseball players dream of getting to in their career, where players can completely screw around all day, and where there are gemming stories. Three key aspects of the bench are if a bench player can, keep the book, stay in one spot the whole game, and get foul balls. A perfect bencher is something even veteran benchers may not get to accomplish in their lifetime. One must never move the entire time during the game, asking the coach to not put him in if he asks. It has only happened once or twice in freshman-jv baseball history.

That kid for Milton clearly wanted to sit the bench in that game, since when he hit a dribbler to eich, instead of running to first, he walked off the field towards the bench so that his coach would sit him for the rest of the game.

To benchpress.


This invloves lying horizontally, with free barbell perpendicular to one's body. The target muscles are the pectorals, although the arms are also givena workout. The closer together one's hands, the more work is done by the triceps. The further apart, the more work is done by the biceps.

Incline benchpresses can also be used, to focus on either the upper chest (upwards incline) or lower chest (lower incline- pretty much un-needed)

The world record for benching is about 728 pounds.
